Sit correctly at a table holding a pencil comfortably and correctly; form lower-case letters in the correct direction starting and finishing in the right place

Sit tall with both feet supported. Pinch the pencil gently, let it rest on your middle finger, and let’s make a few slow marks.
Spend 5–10 minutes on comfortable pencil control. Make a few straight lines and circles, then practice two familiar lowercase letters such as l and c. Stop before the hand gets tired.
